Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards - we won!

What a week it has been! We are delighted to announce that we are the winner of the Best Food & Drink Event/Initiative at the Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards 2018! It’s our first business award and a real thrill to have our tours recognised in our first year.

Kirsty and I attended the awards night at G Live on Thursday 13th September, a glitz and glam event that saw me don a tux for the first time, something I could get used to! After a delicious meal, the presentation began. It’s hard to describe the knots I felt in my stomach when our category was up. Our category also featured two Surrey favourites - Bake With Jack and Ripley Farmers’ Market, both deserving of the honour - so we were bowled over to hear our name announced. The trip up to the stage was a bit of a blur but I think I just about retained enough composure to answer a few questions posed by the host, newsreader Nicholas Owen.

We of course have a lot of people to thank - our customers and everyone who nominated us for this award, category judge Christine Howard, Surrey Life magazine and the category sponsor Oka Guildford. We also must say a huge thanks to the wonderful Surrey businesses we work with - Albury Organic Vineyard, Greyfriars Vineyard, High Clandon Estate, Silent Pool Gin, Tillingbourne Brewery and The Queen’s Head. In promoting the food and drink of Surrey we also rely on their outstanding products and service. Without them this would not be possible.

Yesterday was our last sell out public tour of the year so we now set about planning an even bigger and better 2019. We are excited about the opportunities our win will afford us. Keep an eye out for new tour announcements and I hope you can join us soon on an award-winning Grape & Grain Tour!
